With reference to claims nos. 90 to 96 the land comprised in the Squatters Licences immediately adjoins Shaukiwan Lots nos. 119, 121, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128 and 129 and blocks up the access of the Owners of these Lots to the sea, and in some cases the Squatters' Licences comprise part of the leased lots, to the great detriment of the lots where the Licensees are distinct from the Crown Lessees.
The Board does not recommend that Leases be granted to the Squatters in these cases and inasmuch as the leased lots as laid out are comparatively useless to the Lot holders without the sea frontage the Board recommends that the boundaries of Shaukiwan Lots nos. 119, 121, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128 and 129 be readjusted and that new Leases be granted to the present Crown Lessees upon the same terms as to premium and Crown Rent for the extra ground as the existing lots were sold for. The Lessees have in these cases arranged terms with the Squatters so that the latter will not lose their business without compensation.
